or
step 1
Painting your animals.
I started out trying to spray paint my animals, however, that didn’t go too well. I think the paint I was using wasn’t right for plastic and it ran and didn’t cover.
So… I grabbed my white acrylic paint and painted them and I got much better coverage.
Do what works best for you or what you have on hand.
step 2
Since I couldn’t use the spray paint and I wanted the animals to be a little shiny I grabbed my clear nail polish and painted all over the head area of the animals.
step 3
Using your x-acto knife carefully (please no blood or lost limbs) cut the heads off your plastic animals.
I have to admit this felt a little weird and creepy. Try not to think about it.
After you’ve cut the heads off make sure the part you cut is smooth and flat. If you like you can paint this side too.
step 4
Using a strong glue like E6000 glue your animal heads to your ring blanks and let dry.
These may not be the most practical of rings, but they’re definitely fun. Use your favorite animals, you can also use bright colors if you prefer.
