This past weekend I got to go to CHA in Anaheim, CA. For those of you who might not know what that is, CHA is the Craft and Hobby Associations big annual trade convention. I had so much fun and got to meet so many people, some old friends and some online friends I’d never met in person. It was a lot of fun!
My trip was really quick, I was there on Saturday and a bit on Sunday morning, but my head is filled with so much information! Now the fun part begins, taking all that inspiration and information and sorting it out into usable bits.
How amazing are these costumes from Patons? I really want to wear them!
This bracelet might be a fun DIY! What do you think?
These projects are all from the Designer Showcase.
The first day I was there I was so excited to have been asked by Prime Publications a.k.a. Fave Crafts to show my work in their booth and I also did a make and take on Saturday morning. I had so much fun and met a lot of people (even a TIB reader! yay!). It was a really great way to start the show.
We made DIY Leather Bracelets (I still have quite a bit of leather left, this may be an upcoming project)
On Sunday I was lucky enough to get to go to the Lion Brand Yarns fashion show. I love a good fashion show! And of course Vanna White was there! They were showing lots of color and granny squares! Hmmm… I’ve been seeing them in fashion magazines going forward, so what do you guys think about granny squares? Wanna make some?
These fingerless gloves have LED lights in them! I found a company there who makes them, I hope to get to share them and more information about them with you.
There are so many fun craft supplies coming out and i Love To Create (whom I also write for) has a fabric spray paint coming out in a few months. I can’t wait to get my hands on that!
I did my best to visit as many make and take booths as possible. It was also a great way to get to see some of my crafty friends who were working the show.
The shoe is by Pattiewack and the phone is by Crafty Chica.
I have to say that the people at i Love To Create are so awesome! They featured 3 of my projects in their booth! I have to admit it’s exciting to see yourself bigger than life up on a wall! I just love them, they’re really great people to work with.
So now that all my traveling and the holidays are behind me (and even though it’s the middle of January already! OMG) now I feel like I can get this year started!
Leave me a comment and let me know if you’re interested in any of the ideas I talked about, like granny squares, LED lights or fabric spray paint.
