While this isn’t a traditional DIY post, it still is a DIY, because what’s more do it yourself than your hair or your style? Plus, you could win $1000 by entering the Vidal Sassoon Show Your Genius Contest!
Any hairstyle suggestions for me? Which one do you like?

We take care of our hair everyday and how we wear it and style it is a creation (read DIY) of ourselves and who we are and what we like.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vidal Sassoon’s iconic bob haircut, they are having a contest to ’Show Your Genius’ by offering haircuts, at the NYC uptown salon, at the 1963 price of only $7!!! Can you believe it? If you’re not in New York, not to worry, you can still enter to win a $1000 plus other prizes by submitting a ’selfie’ of your fabulous self! What are you waiting for?
If you’re in NYC the haircuts are available for one day only June 4th, click here to enter and book your appointment. (There’s not much time left and appointments are going fast!) But don’t worry you have until June 18th to enter your ‘selfie’ for your chance to win.
Vidal Sassoon sent me these great products to try out and review. I just received them today and haven’t had a chance to try them, but I’ll let you know when I post my new ’do’ after my appointment on Tuesday!
I’ve always liked Vidal Sassoon hairstyles since I was a kid. I love the way his cuts would frame the face and while they were so unique, they didn’t detract from the woman wearing them. They often show off the shape of the head or frame the face to let you see more of the woman. I think that is truly beautiful and that is what our hair and our fashion should do, enhance us, not cover us up.
Since my hair is pretty short and I’ve always been partial to a bob, I’m looking to cut my hair in possibly a very asymmetrical bob. Something very clean and short and perfect for this crazy hot weather we’re having here in NYC! Be sure to follow me on instagram and twitter to follow the event and see how it turns out!
