TOOLS & MATERIALS:
- 12 inch Wreath Form
- 1 Marabou boa
- 1 Feather boa
- 2 Colors of felt
- 3 Googly eyes
- Glow in the dark paint
- Hot glue
- Scissors
step 1
Print out or draw the letters you want for your wreath.
I printed my from the Monsters University website.
I used Python Nu Kappa.
Cut out your paper letters.
step 2
Using the color your first color of felt, trace your letters on top.
Cut them out.
step 3
Using a small amount of hot glue, glue your felt letters to your second color of felt.
Let dry.
step 4
Cut around your letters leaving about a 1/8 to 1/4 inch boarder.
step 5
If you are adding glow in the dark paint to your letters add it now. Not like in my picture where I actually added it after! What was I thinking! Learn from my mistakes!
I put a line of glow in the dark paint around the outside of my letters.
Set aside to dry.
step 6
Using your thinner marabou boa and your wreath form, glue one end of your boa to the wreath.
Wrap your boa around your wreath (make sure it’s snug, but not too tight) all the way around and glue the other end to your wreath form.
step 7
Do the same thing you did in step 6 but with your larger feather boa.
step 8
Glue your googly eyes to the top of your wreath.
step 9
Glue your letters to the bottom of the wreath.
Make sure that your paint is dry when you glue your letters on, otherwise your feathers will get stuck to your glue.
With the upcoming release of Monsters University Blu-ray Combo Pack on October 29th the great people at Disney have asked me to create a fun Halloween related project for Monsters University.
The movie is really cute and I love their creativity with the Greek Fraternities and Sororities, who wouldn’t love Slugma Slugma Kappa or Jaws Theta Chi. I went with Python Nu Kappa mostly because I knew I would be hanging this in my daughter’s room. But for now it’s a fun addition to our Halloween decor.
If you haven’t seen the movie yet be sure to check it out! You can pre-order your copy of the Monsters University Blu-ray Combo Pack here. And see what they’re up to by checking them out on social media:
