CABINET OF CURIOSITIES

0
Inspiration can come from anywhere and today it came from Archie McPhee.

Toys From Archie McFee

If you’re in the Seattle area this is a must see.

It’s a crazy store filled with any sort of gag gift, plastic animal, costumes and a very large selection of bacon flavored/scented everything. Who knew a little purple plastic Narwhal could make a girl so happy, (oh and my daughter loves her plastic animals too).
So I’m so excited, I found some great things and have projects in the works. Check back soon to see what I’m doing with my new Trinkets.

DVF Diane on Throwing a Party

Whenever I’m in need of some inspiration I know I can always turn to DVF. She has such amazing energy and grace, I can only imagine how amazing her parties must be.

Since today is Fat Tuesday perhaps it’s a little late for party planning but

Spring is right around the corner and her advice is spot on.

A good mix of people and enjoy yourself as well, “act like a guest”. When your guests are relaxed they will enjoy themselves and if something goes wrong they probably wont even notice. My almost 4 year old watched this video with me and when it was over she said “good food and good wine, that’s a good party!” Add to that a relaxed host and interesting guests and you’ve got yourself the makings of a great party.
Cheers!

I have to admit that I was a bit mesmerized when I watched this video. Such an intriguing outfit on Ondine Azoulay, it has a retro hippie feel yet she’s made it completely her own. The Pucci dress, the skull necklace and those boots!

I LOVE those boots!

The mood of this short video is very personal, the filmmaker Dennis Swiatkowski is creating a series of one minute short films on London street style during London Fashion Week. “Theyre portraits in motion, capturing personalities through music, movement, expression, and fashion—its street style 2.0,” Check out his blog Get Your Plane Right On Time for more of his amazing films and photographs.

BLAST FROM THE PAST

This week I found some old sketchbooks from my past

Sketches from when I first developed a passion for fashion and illustration. I decided to share these 3 with you and to remind myself of my true self and my true passion.

These were sketches I made based on fashion illustrations I found in Vogue from 19.. (well lets not get technical, but good for you if you know the year and lets just keep it our little secret!) I hope you enjoy them. Have a great weekend!
