Holiday approved, this DIY Gold Hair Tie is sure to make everyday a good hair day this season!
TOOLS & MATERIALS:
- Gold metallic fabric – ¼ yard
- Interfacing – ¼ yard (optional)
- Wire – 32 inches
- Needle & thread
- Sewing machine
- Pins
step 1
You’ll want your finished piece to be about 32 inches long by 2.5 inches wide.
Cut your fabric at least 33 inches long by 6 inches wide.
Cut your interfacing 33 inches long by 3 inches wide. I recommend using only one layer of interfacing otherwise it will get too thick.
Before you sew your fabric you can cut the ends at an angle.
step 2
Fold your fabric in half long ways with the right sides together and pin.
Pin your interfacing to your fabric.
step 3
Sew your fabric across one short side and down the long side leaving one end open to turn it right side out.
Make sure your gold fabric can be ironed or don’t iron it at all. Learn from my mistakes! I don’t know what I was thinking.
step 4
Turn your fabric right side out.
Slide your wire inside your fabric.
step 5
Fold your ends over and pin.
step 6
Using your needle and thread sew your end shut.
Wrap it around your head and twist to hold.
With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season this gold hair tie is perfect to keep your hair up and looking great no matter how much running around you have to do.
It’s so quick and simple to make you can make several to give as gifts.
From my family to yours we wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!
xoxo
