The Kentucky Derby is tomorrow! This is the most famous and the first of the three races in the Triple Crown. There is so much fun tradition around the race including; big fancy hats (of course!), flowers (run for the roses!), mint juleps (racing, I mean party planning, I mean DIYing is thirsty work!) and even horses (oh…right, kind of important!)
I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite DIYS inspired by the Derby and some drink recipes (each race has a signature cocktail)!
This Minaudiere with Golden Horse is one of my faves!
Be chic and comfortable with these DIY Beaded Flip Flops.
This DIY Ribbon and Chain Bracelet is the perfect accessory.
Turn any cookie box into a super cute clutch with this DIY!
While this hat isn’t as flamboyant as a derby hat should be, creating a ombre colored base would be a great start for your derby hat. Or keep it simple like this one!
This Derby Party from Pottery Barn and the ladies at Camp Makery, put together this stunning soiree with drinks, decor and style!
I also found this drink – The Pink Lilly – which sounds super delish!
2 cups grapefruit juice
2 cups pinapple juice
1 1/2 cups white rum
1 cup chilled club soda
splash of genadine (to make it pink!)
I found this recipe on by Ashley on Sweet Southern Prep.

Have a fabulous weekend! Enjoy the Derby and let me know what’s your favorite project.
